First Visit
Welcome to Our Dental Family!
Thank you so much for trusting us with your dental care! We are truly excited to welcome you to our modern, family-friendly practice, where your comfort, safety, and happiness come first. Our warm and caring team is here to listen to your needs, answer your questions, and make sure you feel completely relaxed and confident every step of the way. We cannot wait to meet you and partner together to give you a healthy, beautiful smile you love!
What to Expect at Your First Visit
Your first visit is all about getting to know you. We want to understand your dental history, listen to any past experiences you've had, and learn what you want for your smile. Together, we will create a personalized care plan that fits your life and goals.
When you arrive, we will help you fill out our new patient forms, including your health history and insurance details.
To help us get started, please bring or email us:
- Identification: A valid photo ID or driver's license.
- Insurance: A copy of your dental insurance card.
- Recent X-rays: Any panoramic or full-mouth X-rays taken in the last 5 years.
- Medications: A complete list of any medications you currently take.
Your Comprehensive Exam & Cleaning
Your first visit will last between 45 minutes and 1 hour and 15 minutes. This dedicated time allows your doctor/hygienist to focus completely on you. Here is what we will do:
- Complete Evaluation: We will thoroughly check your overall oral health, screen for oral cancer, and evaluate your jaw and gums.
- Gentle Cleaning: In most cases, if you qualify for a healthy mouth cleaning, we will also refresh your smile with a professional teeth cleaning during this visit.
- Up-to-Date X-rays: Clear images are essential for us to catch hidden issues like decay or bone loss early. If you have had a panoramic or full-mouth series of X-rays within the past 5 years, or bitewing X-rays within the past year, please email them to us ahead of time.
- Collaborative Care & Education: During your exam, our clinical team—including your doctor, hygienist, and dental assistants—will walk you through a personalized, transparent look at your oral health. Together, we will guide you through our findings and use educational tools to explain any treatment recommendations so you fully understand your options. We want to empower you with the knowledge to make confident choices for your smile, and we welcome any questions you may have.
Please ask as many questions as you like! We love sharing information and making sure you feel completely comfortable.
Open Communication & Partnership
We believe the best dental care is built on true partnership and honest, open conversations. You are the most important member of your care team, so we promise to always be completely transparent with you about our findings, treatment paths, and alternative options. We want you to feel completely informed, respected, and comfortable every step of the way. By working hand-in-hand, we can keep your smile bright, healthy, and beautiful for a lifetime!
